Create an invoice from delivered goods
When the company invoices from transfers, create the invoice from the delivery and keep it linked to the delivered goods and to the sales order conditions.
Before you start
In the Sales app settings, invoicing section, set Sale Invoicing Policy to Stock Picking. The delivery operation type must be set up for invoicing, the goods must be delivered and the user needs access to Invoicing.
Step by step
1. Identify what is ready to invoice
Open the delivery and check the delivered quantities, the customer and the invoice status. When the status is To Be Invoiced, click Create Invoice. To group several deliveries in one invoice, select compatible transfers in the list and check the grouping proposed by the wizard before confirming.
2. Review the draft and its source
Open the invoice from the Invoicing tab of the transfer. Compare the invoiced quantities with the deliveries, and the prices, payment terms, down payments and customer reference with the sales order. Check the fiscal operation and the taxes before confirming the invoice.
3. Invoice services and handle returns
With the Stock Picking policy, goods are invoiced from the delivery and services are invoiced from the sales order. In an order with goods and services, create the service invoice from the order and check both invoices before closing it. Handle returns through the return linked to the delivery and the credit note, then check the quantity that can still be invoiced.
Expected result
The invoice identifies the delivered goods and keeps the sales and payment conditions of the order.
If something goes wrong
If the delivery does not offer Create Invoice, check that it is validated and that its invoice status is To Be Invoiced. If the invoiced quantities differ from what was delivered, check that all deliveries of the order were selected and that each one was validated with the correct quantity.
